1 lb. vanilla flavored candy coating, cut into pieces
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup finely crushed peppermint candy
Coating:
4 oz chocolate flavored candy coating, cut into pieces
1 tbsp shortening
Recipe
Line 9x5 inch loaf pan with waxed paper or foil.
In medium saucepan, melt vanilla flavored candy coating and 1/4 cup shortening over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in peppermint candy.
Spread mixture into waxed paper lined pan. Allow candy to stand at room temperature until firm; cut into 1 inch squares. Allow candy to harden completely.
In small saucepan, melt coating ingredients over low heat, stirring constantly. Keep mixture warm.
Dip each peppermint candy square halfway into melted coating; allow excess to drip off. Place coating side up on waxed paper. Garnish as desired. Allow to set.
