Easy Taco Casserole

List of Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
16 ounces chili beans in sauce, undrained (pick your heat; I went with mild)
8 ounces tomato sauce
1 package (1.25 oz.) taco seasoning mix
2 cups tortilla chips, coarsely broken (I just eyeballed it; enough to cover the bottom of your baking dish)
8 medium green onions, sliced
4 ounces Cheddar Jack (or Colby Jack) cheese blend, shreddedRecipe
Heat oven to 350. In 10-inch skillet, cook beef over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked; drian. Stir in beans, tomato sauce, and taco seasoning mix. (I put the taco mix in first and let it cook a bit with the beef before adding the rest.) Reduce heat to medium; heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
In ungreased 1 1/2- to 2-quart casserole, place tortilla chips. Top evenly with beef mixture. Sprinkle with remaining ingredients.
Bake uncovered 20 to 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Arrange additional chips around edge of casserole if desired.
