    1-1/8 cup sugar

    1/2 lb. (2 sticks) REAL butter

    1/4 tsp. salt

    1/2 package baking chocolate (melted)

    chopped nuts

    Recipe



    Melt butter in cast iron skillet or heavy sauce pan. Mix sugar and salt into the butter and cook over medium high heat until the mixture turns a deep amber color, or hard crack on a candy thermometer. Pour mixture onto a foil lined and buttered cookie sheet. Cool a bit, then spread melted chocolate over the toffee and sprinkle with chopped nuts. (I use pecans)

    Cool completely and then break into pieces.
