1 lb. stew beef
1 lb. Italian sausage
4 med potatoes, cubed
2 16 oz. cans kidney beans
1/2 c. red wine
1 lg. onion, chopped fine
1 clove garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp. fennel seed

In lg. skillet, brown sausage over med heat -- cut into 2 in. pieces and set in casserole. In same fat, brown beef and add to casserole. Saute onions and garlic -- add to casserole.
Add remaining ingredients and mix. Cover. Bake in 350 oven for one hour. Serve with hot Italian bread, green sald and red wine if you so desire.
