Add Lemon to Chicken Soup!

My friend that just returned from Portugal said they make alot of chicken soup
there...along with tons of fish, paella, rice pudding, and octopus. We got talking...me
telling him I had a chciken soup simmering...he told me a GREAT cook there told
him her secret for the chicken soup she makes (BTW he said it was the BEST he
ever ate) was to add one whole lemon (cut in quarters) to her soup. Well i tried it
AND the saffron he brought me back and let me tell you...It WAS the best I ever
made. I could taste a hint of the lemon while eating the soup...not overpowering or
anything. I think it adds that little flavor and also cuts some of the grease you tand to
get with chciken soup.
Whatever the reason...TRY it next time!
