Substitute 4 oz. jar of chopped Pimiento for ; one 7 oz. jar Roasted Red Bell Peppers.
1 Cup Buttermilk=1 tablespoon Lemon Juice or Vinegar plus enough milk to make 1 cup. Let stand five minutes before using. Or use 1 cup plain yogurt.
Plain Yogurt replaces Sour Cream.
1 cup Corn Syrup=1 cup granulated Sugar plus 1/4 liquid.
1 cup Beef or Chicken broth=1 tsp instant Bouillon plus 1 cup very hot water.
2 cups Tomato Sauce=3/4 cup Tomato Paste plus 1 cup water.
1 cup Tomato Juice = 1/2 cup Tomato Sauce plus 1/2 cup water.
1 tsp Lemon Juice = 1/2 tsp Vinegar.
1 tsp Poultry Seasoning=3/4 tsp dried Sage,crushed, plus 1/4 tsp. Thyme or Marjoram, crushed.
1 tablespoon fresh herb = 1 tsp. dried.
1 tsp. Apple Pie Spice=1/2 tsp. cinnamon plus 1/4 tsp. Nutmeg, 1/8 tsp Allspice, and dash of Cloves or Ginger.
1 tsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice= 1/2 tsp cinnamon plus 1/4 tsp ginger, 1/4 tsp allspice, & 1/8 tsp. nutmeg.
