    Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

    3/4 cup sugar
    3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    1 cup margarine or butter, softened
    3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    2 eggs
    2 cups all-purpose or unbleached flour
    1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon salt
    6 oz. (1 cup) peanut butter chips
    3 (1.8 oz.) pkg. milk chocolate-covered peanut butter cups, cut into pieces

    Heat oven to 350° F. In large bowl, beat sugar, brown sugar, margarine and peanut butter until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs; beat well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Add flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; mix well. Stir in peanut butter chips and peanut butter cup candy pieces.

    Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° F for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned and set. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.

    Makes 5 dozen cookies.
