    List of Ingredients




    2 C fresh OR frozen blueberries OR chopped peeled apple
    2 T sugar
    2 T water
    1 T lemon juice
    ½ tsp ground cinnamon
    1 C all-purpose flour
    1 C quick cookin rolled oats
    2/3 C packed brown sugar
    ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
    1/8 tsp baking soda
    ½ C butter {margarine} melted

    Recipe



    FOR FILLING, in a med saucepan combine blueberries or apple, sugar, water, lemon juice and ½ tsp cinnamon. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered about 8 minutes or til slightly thickened, stirring frequently. Remove from heat.

    In a mixing bowl, stir together flour, oats, brown sugar, ¼ tsp cinnamon and baking soda. Stir in melted butter til thoroughly combined.

    Set aside 1 CUP oat mix for topping.

    Press remaining mix into an ungreased 9x9x2” baking pan.

    Bake at 350° for 12 minutes.

    Carefully spread filling on top of baked crust. Sprinkle w/reserved oat mix. Lightly press oat mix into filling. Bake at 350° for 20~25 minutes more or til topping is set.

    Cool in pan on rack. Cut into bars.

    ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
    CRANBERRY~DATE CRUMB BARS
    Prepare Fruit bars as directed, EXCEPT, omit the filling.

    FOR CRANBERRY~DATE FILLING, in a med saucepan combine 1 ½ C CRANBERRIES, 1 C chopped pitted DATES, and 2 T WATER.

    Cook covered, over low heat about 12 minutes or til cranberries pop, stirring frequently. Then stir in 1 tsp VANILLA.

    Cool slightly before using.
