List of Ingredients
1 19.5 oz. package brownie mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
2 large eggs
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup pecan halves, coarsely chopped (I used pecan pieces)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
18 oz. refrigerated chocolate chip cookie doughRecipe
1. Heat oven to 350. Spray 13x9 pan with cooking spray. Make brownie mix as directed on box, using oil, water, and eggs. Spread batter evenly in pan. Bake 25 minutes (brownies will NOT be done at this point).
2. Meanwhile, in 2-qt. saucepan, heat remaining ingredients except cookie dough to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; set aside until brownies are baked. Cut cookie dough into 16 equal slices.
3. When brownies are done baking, immediately pour praline mixture evenly over partially baked brownies. Carefully top praline mixture with cookie dough slices, arranging in 3 rows of 5 slices each. Use 16th slice to fill in large spaces as needed (dough will spread to cover small spaces as it bakes).
4. Bake 23 to 28 minutes longer or until cookie topping is deep golden brown. If serving as bars, cool 2 hours; cut into 6 rows by 4 rows. If serving with ice cream as dessert, cool 20 to 30 minutes; cut into 4 rows by 3 rows.
Makes 12 dessert servings or 24 bars
