List of Ingredients
½ C. butter plus 2 Tbsp. - Divided
1 ½ C. sugar, divided
1 C. flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ tsp. Salt
½ C. milk
5 cups fresh marionberries
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
¼ tsp. nutmeg
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease 2-quart baking dish. Mix ½ cup butter and ½ cup sugar in food processor (or mixer) until light and fluffy. Add flour, baking soda, salt and milk. Mix to combine. Batter should be stiff; set aside.
In a large bowl, gently toss berries with 1 cup sugar, cornstarch, nutmeg and lemon juice. Pour berries into baking dish. Dot with 2 tablespoons of butter cut into thin slices. Spoon batter over berries; berries will not be completely covered.
Bake for 40 minutes or until pastry is golden and the filling bubbles. Serve warm with ice cream.
