1 whole angelfood cake
1 large box vanilla pudding
seasonal fruit of choice
whipped topping
chopped nuts
chocolate syrup
Recipe
Take the whole angel food cake (especially one off the day-old bakery rack) and tear it into bite-sized pieces. Mix pudding according to package directions. Cut up seasonal fruit into bite-sized pieces -OR-
Cheat #1: buy it from the salad bar -OR-
Cheat #2: use frozen that has been thawed
In a tall, straight-sided dish, place 1/3-1/2 of the angel food cake pieces; top with 1/3-1/2 of the fruit followed with 1/3-1/2 of the pudding. Repeat layers until all is used (2 more times if using 1/3; one more time if using 1/2).
Top with thawed frozen whipped topping and whatever tickles your fancy (chopped nuts, chocolate syrup drizzle, etc).
One outstanding combo is white chocolate pudding and strawberries.
