Recipe Introduction
This recipe came from Taste of Home field editor Evelyn Gebhardt. I thought it'd be a great recipe for Good Friday. You can substitute cod or chicken breast for the halibut.

1 1/2 lbs halibut steaks, boned, cut into 1 inch cubes
2 minced garlic cloves
3/4 t dried thyme
1/3 cup all purpose flour
1/2 t salt
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 cup whipping cream
8 ounce box No Cook Lasagna noodles

In a large skillet, melt 2 T of the butter over medium heat. Add halibut, garlic and thyme. Cook until fish flakes easily with a fork, about 10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Add the remaining butter to the skillet. Stir in flour and salt until smooth; cook and stir until golden brown. Gradually add the broth and cream. Bring to a boil and cook and stir for 2 more minutes or till thickened.
In a greased 13 by 9 by 2 in. baking dish, layer half of the noodles, halibut, white sauce and cheese. Repeat layers.
Cover and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Uncover; bake for 20 minutes longer or till bubbly. Let stand 15 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving, if desired.
8 servings.
