    Shrimp Creole

    Recipe Introduction

    I've made this many times and it is good!

    List of Ingredients

    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1/2 cup chopped celery
    1 clove garlic, minced
    3 Tbls. veg. oil
    1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 to 1 tsp. chili powder
    1 Tbls. Worcestershire sauce
    Dash or two hot pepper sauce
    2 tsp. cornstarch
    12 oz. cleaned raw shrimp
    1/2 cup chopped green pepper

    Recipe

    Cook onion, celery and garlic in hot oil until tender but not brown. Add tomatoes and the next 6 ingredients. Simmer uncovered, 45 minutes. Mix cornstarch with 1 Tbls. cold water; stir into sauce. Cook and stir until mixture thickens and bubbles. Add shrimp and green pepper. Cover, simmer until done, about 5 minutes. Serve over rice.

    Serves 6
