Recipe Introduction
Makes two 12" thin-crust pizzas . . .
List of Ingredients
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp. milk
1/4 cup oil
more oil as needed to brush over dough
Topping:
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 cup tomato sauce
1 tbsp. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 cup browned ground beef
1/2 lb. grated mozzarella cheese
Recipe
Sift dry ingredients together; add milk and oil. Stir vigorously with fork until mixture leaves sides of bowl. Knead ten times to smooth the dough. Divide in half.
Roll one half between two 12" pieces of waxed paper until dough reaches the edges of the paper (you can dampen the countertop to prevent slipping as you roll it out). Peel off paper from one side; place paper-side-up on baking sheet or pizza pan; peel off remaining paper. Roll up edge of dough about 1/2" and pinch or pleat all around to make a stand-up edge. Brush with oil (edges too).
Repeat the procedure with the other half of the dough; divide toppings between pizzas, layering in order listed, and bake at 425° for 20-25 minutes.
Cut in wedges to serve.
