Asparagus & Ham Roll-ups

2 tbsp. butter
1/4 cup flour
2 cups milk
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. white pepper
24 asparagus spears
8 slices cooked ham
1/4 cup bread crumbsRecipe
In a saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour and cook until thick. Gradually stir in milk and cook until bubbly and thickened. Stir in cheese, salt and pepper. Remove from heat. Place 3 asparagus spears on each ham slice. Roll up; secure with toothpicks in necessary. Place in a 13x9x2 baking pan; cover with cheese sauce. Sprinkle with crumbs. Bake at 375° for 20 minutes.
