    Place a wok or medium saucepan over high heat
    until hot. Add

    1 1/2 T. oil, one tsp. each ginger and garlic (fresh), stir, add 1 T. chopped green onion-white part, 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup chicken broth, 1/4 cup dry sherry, 2 tsp. hot pepper sauce or chili oil. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 2 mins. Add 1 T. cornstarch mixed with 2 T. water, stirring until sauce boils and thickens, about 2 mins. Remove from heat and cool.
