Corn Dogs

List of Ingredients
2/3 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
1½ tsp. baking flour
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 tsp. vegetable oil
3/4 cup milk
1 lb. wieners, boiled first
wooden skewers

Combine dry ingredients & stir to mix. Combine egg and oil with milk. Add to dry ingredients and mix well. Pat wieners dry with paper towels, insert skewers, cover with cornmeal mixture and fry in deep fat until golden brown. Serve with mustard or chili sauce.
CRISPY CORN DOGS:
1 cup flour
2 tbsp. yellow cornmeal
1½ tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. shortening
1 beaten egg
3/4 cup milk
10 hot dogs
Oil or shortening for frying
wooden skewers
In medium bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt. With pastry blender or fork, cut in shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs. In small bowl, combine egg and milk; add to dry mixture; mix well. Pat hot dogs dry with paper towels. Insert wooden skewer in end of each dog and dip into batter, being careful to coat all sides but letting excess batter drip off. Fry in hot oil until golden, about 2 minutes. Serve hot
