Christmas: Wassail Cup

List of Ingredients

1 cup sugar
2 cups water
1 cinnamon stick
6 whole cloves
1 piece whole ginger
3/4 cup grapefruit juice
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 cups apple cider or apple juice
2 cups water (this is in addition to the first 2)


Recipe

Combine 1 cup sugar and 2 cups water, bring to a brisk boil. Remove from heat & while hot, add cinnamon, cloves and ginger. Allow to cool completely; then strain off spices, before adding the remaining ingredients.

Serve hot as is, or spiked with the liquor of your choice - we like it with rum...
