    List of Ingredients




    1- 1 1/2 lb of asparagus

    Biscuits:
    3/4 cup cream
    2 cups baking mix (i.e. Bisquick brand)
    2 T sugar (optional)

    Cheese Sauce:
    1/4 cup butter
    1/4 cup Bisquick
    1/2 t salt
    1/4 t pepper
    2 cups grated swiss cheese
    2 cups milk

    Trim asparagus & discard woody stems. Cut into 2 or 3 inch pieces and cook till crisp tender.

    Biscuits:
    Add cream to the Bisquick and if desired, sugar. Stir with a fork till it forms a soft dough. Beat dough for 15 strokes. It should be stiff and sticky. Roll dough on cloth covered board light dusted with Bisquick to prevent sticking. Knead gently 8 to 10 times till smooth. Roll 1/2 inch thick. Cut into six 3 inch biscuits and bake on ungreased baking sheet in a 450 degree over (till biscuits are golden.)

    Cheese Sauce:
    Melt butter over low heat, add Bisquick and salt and pepper and blend till smooth. Cook over low heat, stirring till smooth and bubbly. Stir in cheese, remove from heat and stir in milk. Return to heat and bring to boil; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.

    Assembly:
    Split hot biscuits in half, top with asparagus and drizzle with cheese sauce.
