Equal amounts of lima beans & corn; about 2 cups each
2 T flour
bacon, about 2 slices per serving
Butter
1 or 2 C Milk
Salt to taste
cracked pepper to taste
Recipe
Put the beans/corn in pan w/enough water to cover n bring to boil w/bit of butter n salt. Reduce heat n partially cover n let simmer.
Fry bacon in pan to crispy crumble n set aside. Add a bit of butter to bacon drippings n melt together scraping crispies off bottom of pan.
Whisk in 1 or 2 T flour til smooth being careful not to brown the flour. Whisk in 1~2 C milk n cook stirring often so as not to burn til it is thick n bubbly. Add salt/pepper to taste.
Strain beans/corn then stir in the "sauce" n bacon pieces. Allow to simmer just barely, stirring occasionally to incorporate the flavors!
