1 head cabbage, cored and sliced
4 strips of bacon
1 large sweet onion, chopped (or white onion)
salt and pepper to taste
one tablespoon of sugar substitute (not needed if you use sweet onion)
1/4 cup vegetable oil or bacon fat
1/3 cup waterRecipe
Place the bacon and vegetable oil into a large pot over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until bacon is crisp. Break bacon into small pieces. Add cabbage, onion, and sugar substitute to the pot; cook and stir continuously for 5 minutes, until tender. Add a little water if necessary.
