Special Squash Casserole

List of Ingredients
3 lbs. butternut squash, peeled, seeded cubed
3/4 C milk
6 Tbls. butter or margarine melted
3 eggs beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 C. sugar
3 Tbls. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
TOPPING:
1/2 C vanilla wafers (about 15 wafers)
1/4 C packed brown sugar
2 Tbls. butter or nargarine meltedRecipe
Place squash in a large saucepan or dutch oven. Cover with water. Bring to a boil. Cover and cook for 25-30 minutes or until tender. Drain and place in a mixing bowl. Beat just until smooth. Add the milk, butter, eggs & vanilla. Mix well. Combine the dry ingredients. Add the squash mixture and mix well. Transfer to a greased 2 qt. baking dish. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Meanwhile , in a small bowl, combine the topping ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle over the squash. Bake uncovered for 12-15 minutes or until heated through.
