1 Pkg Pork Sausage
10 eggs, slightly beaten
3 cups milk
2 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp salt
6 cups cubed bread
2 cups shredded cheddar
1/2 tsp pepper
1 cup thin-sliced green onions
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 medium tomato, seeded & choppedRecipe
Cook sausage over medium heat until no longer pink.
In large mixing bowl combine eggs, milk, mustard, & salt, stir well.
Distribute 1/2 bread in a buttered 9x13x2 baking dish.
Sprinkle with 1/2 pepper & 1/2 cheese.
Spread 1/2 sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, & onions.
Repeat layering.
Pour egg mixture over the casserole.
Bake @ 325 for 60 minutes.
The original recipe called for 1/2 cup of the mushrooms & onions and only 1/2 tomato, we like it better with more veggies. You can also leave out any of the veggies that you don't like, or add something else if you desire it. I make it for camping, it's almost better the second day!
