    Ingredients for the cake:

    1 white cake mix
    1 large can of mandarin oranges (in it's natural juices)
    1 jar of marachino cherries (rinsed and cut in half)


    Frosting Ingredients:

    1 large can of crushed pineapple (drained)
    1 large container of cool whip

    Recipe



    Mix the cake mix the way you normally would, but in place of water use the juice from the mandarin oranges.
    Mix in the entire can of mandarin oranges and stir.
    Mix in about half the jar of cherries.

    Pour into two round cake pans.
    Bake, turn on to wire racks, and set aside to cool.

    Mix together the crushed pineapple and cool whip.
    spread between the cake layers, and then frost the entire outside of the cake as well.

    Put the rest of the rinsed cherried on top and serve COLD.

    This is a cake you absolutely have to refridgerate. It will last for a week covered.
