    Chicago Style Roast Beef Sandwiches

    3 pounds deli roast beef, sliced
    4 medium green bell peppers
    4 envelopes au jus gravy packet (make sure each packet makes 2 cups)
    3 teaspoons jalapeno pepper juice
    8 French rolls
    16 slices mozzarella cheese

    Recipe



    Make the au jus according to package directions in large pot. Add sliced beef and bring to a boil. Slice green peppers in long strips and add them. Simmer about 2 hours (volume will shrink quite a bit). Stir in 2-3 teaspoons of pepper juice from bottled or canned jalapenos.

    Cool completely and refrigerate overnight (it won't taste right if you skip this). The next day, serve beef and peppers on French rolls topped with mozzarella (melt cheese) and lots of juice.
