Creamy Macaroni and Cheese

2 tbsp butter or margarine
2 tbsp finely chopped onion
2 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cups milk
8 oz Velveeta
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 (8-ounce) package elbow macaroni, cooked and drained

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place butter in 2-quart casserole dish; cover with wax paper. Microwave on high until butter is melted. Add onion; cover and microwave on high until onion is softened, about one minute. Add flour, salt and pepper; stir until smooth. Microwave on high 30 seconds or until heated. Blend in milk with a spoon or whisk. Microwave on high 5 to 6 minutes, stirring after every minute, until mixture is thickened and smooth.
Remove pan from microwave. Add cheeses; stir until cheese is melted. Stir in cooked macaroni. Sprinkle with paprika.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until browned and bubbly.
