    This was written for the stove top but can be converted to crock pot I'm sure.

    List of Ingredients




    1-1.5lbs beef stew meat
    2T flour
    2T margarine
    1c chopped onion (or 1 packet lipton onion soup mix)
    2t salt (omit if using mix)
    1 bay leaf
    4 whole cloves
    2c boiling water
    1/2lb baby carrots, cut in half
    3 potatoes, peeled and cubed
    1c frozen peas

    Recipe



    Toss meat in flour. Brown, with onion (if not using soup mix), in margarine.

    Add water, soup mix (or not), bay leaf and cloves. Turn heat very low and simmer for at least 2 hours, 3 is better. Keep an eye on it, add water if needed...try to keep teh meat almost covered. DO NOT let it stick to the pan (this is nearly impossible).

    Add veggies, salt, more water if needed and pepper to taste. Cook until veggies are tender, about 45 minutes.

    If you have enough juice, use the Bisquick recipe to make dumplings if you wish.
