1 1/4 cup dry great northern beans
8 cup water
3 medium stalk celery
1 large potato(es)
2 clove garlic clove(s)
1 1/2 tsp table salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 Tbsp parsley
1 large onion(s)
3 cup cooked ham Recipe
Rinse beans, pick out bad ones. Put beans, water and ham hock (I usually use just ham cut into small pieces if I don't have a ham hock, or I use both) into pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat after is boils and simmer for 1 1/4 hours - 2 hours. Remove ham hock, dice meat and discard fat, skin and bone. Return meat to the pot along with the rest of ingredients. Cook until potatoes and beans are soft. Remove from heat and mash with a potato masher until slightly creamy. (Don't over mash, you still want some beans in tact!) Stir in fresh parsley and serve!
