1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
juice and zest of one lemon
4 c. flour
1 T powder
1/2 t. salt
1 c. milk
Syrup: 2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. fresh lemon juice
Recipe
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and mix. Blend in lemon zest and juice. Sift together dry ingredients and add to egg mix alternately with milk. Divide among 2 greased loaf pans. Bake 350, 45 min. Heat sugar and lemon juice. Spoon this over the loaves when they come out of the oven!
