Recipe Introduction
I have had a lot of three bean salads; but I always come back to this one. To us it's just the best.
List of Ingredients
Three-Bean Salad
1 can (1 lb) cut green beans
1 can (1 lb.) cut yellow wax beans
1 can (1 lb.) red kidney beans
1 small green pepper, finely chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
1/2 cup each vinegar and salad oil
Recipe
Drain the liquid from the beans and place in a glass bowl and mix in green pepper and onion. Combine rest of the ingredients and pour over the beans. Mix well. Make this the day before using, so the flavors get a chance to marinate.
MY NOTE: I don't use a glass bowl I just mix it all in some tupperware.
I use a really good extra virgin olive oil at least for part of the oil and I like a really good balsamic vinegar....but I have used all kinds of vinegar in the past
