    List of Ingredients

    1 cup crisco (one stick)
    1/2 cup confectioners sugar
    2 cups flour
    1 tsp salt
    ½ cup pecans (cookie pieces)
    2 tsp vanilla
    Confectioners sugar (optional)
    Parchment paper

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream Crisco and sugar together thoroughly. Mix flour and salt. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Add nuts and mix until well spread. Add vanilla. Place parchment paper onto cookie sheet. Form dough into small balls and bake for about 15-17 minutes.

Optional: Sprinkle confectioners sugar on cookies once they have cooled completely.

    Variations:
    Add maple flavoring/extract (NOT syrup)
    Add chocolate chips
Add chocolate chips and mint flavoring/extract*
Add chocolate chips and orange flavoring.*

    * You can make multiple recipes at a time and make different variations at the sametime. If you do this, you might think about putting a little food coloring in the cookie dough that has the different flavorings. For example, green for the mint cookies, etc so that you can distiguish the different flavored cookies from one another.
