    Originally a cake, this makes a wonderful quick bread.

    List of Ingredients




    1 cup sugar
    1/2 cup butter or margarine
    1 egg
    1/2 t. salt
    1/4 t. ground cloves
    1/2 t. nutmeg
    1 t. cinnamon
    1 t. soda
    1 cup applesauce
    1/2 cup walnuts

    Recipe




    Cream sugar and butter.
    Add egg and beat 5 min.
    Add soda to applesauce.
    Sift and add remaining dry ingredients and add alternately with applesauce.
    Add chopped walnuts.
    Butter loaf pan and fill with mixture.
    Bake 35-45 min. at 350
