    Apple Baby Back Ribs

    List of Ingredients




    Cider Soak

    1 1/2 cup apple cider or juice
    3/4 cup cider vinegar
    1/2 medium onion, minced
    1 1/2 Tsp Worcestershire sauce
    1 Tsp oil, preferably canola or corn
    1 tsp ground cinnamon
    1 tsp dried thyme

    2 slabs of baby back ribs, preferabaly 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lbs each

    Apple Rib Rub

    1/4 cup brown sugar
    4 tsp onion powder
    1 tsp ground cinnamon
    1 tsp dry mustard
    1 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp dried thyme

    Apple Rib Mop (optional)

    1 1/2 cups apple cider or juice
    1/2 cup cider vinegar
    4 tsp Worcesthershire sauce

    The night before you plan to BBQ, combine the soak ingredients in al lge lidded jar. Place the slabs of ribs in plastic bag or shallow dish & pour the marinade over the ribs. Refrigerate them overnight.

    Prepared smoker for BBQing, bring temp to 200 to 220f

    Remove ribs from the frig & drain them, discarding marinade. In a bowl, mix together the dry rub ingredients & pat the ribs with about 1/2 the mixture. Let ribs sit at room temp for 25 to 30 mins;

    Warm the mop liquid over low heat.

    Transfer meat to the smoker. Cook the ribs for appox 3 hrs, turning & basting themwith mop every hr in a wood burning pit. or as appropriate in your style of smoker. About 45 mins before the ribs are done, brush them with Apple City Apple Sauce, repeat the step shortly before you remove the meat from smoker.

    When ribs are ready, the meat will bend easily between the ribs & the sauce will be gooey & sticky & caramelized in spots. Allow slabs to sit for 5 to 10 mins before slicing them into indiviual ribs. Serve with more sauce on the side
