Barbecue Spare Ribs and Sauce
1 large onion, chopped
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1/2 c. water
1 cube beef bouillon
1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. white vinegar
2 tbsp. honey
2 tsp. tabasco sauce
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. liquid smoke
1 large clove garlic, minced
1 tsp. dry mustard
4 to 5 lb. pork spare ribs
In small saucepan, saute onion in oil until transparent. Add remaining
ingredients except spare ribs. Simmer 15 minutes. Place spare ribs in
large glass baking dish, pour mixture over ribs. Let stand 1 hour,
turning occasionally. Arrange ribs on shallow rack or broiler pan.
Bake 350 for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Turn and baste with remaining sauce two
or three times during baking. Makes 4 servings.
