Recipe Introduction
These moist double chocolate brownies have to be tasted to be believed!
List of Ingredients
- 14 Tablespoons butter, divided
- 4 Oz unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 1 1/2 Cups white granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 Teaspoons vanilla extract, divided
- 2 Large eggs
- 1 Cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 Cup chopped walnuts
- 2 1/4 Cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 Cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 Tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400'. Grease 8inch square baking dish.
- In large saucepan over low heat, melt 8 tbsp butter and chocolate, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and stir in white sugar, 2 tsp vanilla and eggs, one at a time. Blend i flour and walnuts.
- Spread in baking dish and bake until brownies just start to pull from sides of pan. About 20 minutes.
- For frosting, in medium mixing bowl with electric mixer, beat remaining butter and vanilla until creamy.
- At low speed, gradually add confectioners' sugar and cocoa, alternating with milk, beating well after each addtion until frosting is smooth and fluffy.
- Frost brownies when removed from oven by gently spreading on. Cut into 16 squares.
Final Comments
Perfect served with a glass of ice cold milk. If making ahead of time, you can wrap the brownies individually in plastic wrap and store in freezer for up to 2 weeks. To eat, just heat, unwrap and serve.
