    Recipe Introduction


    My own personal version of shepherd's Pie. Quick and easy to make.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/3 Cups instant mashed potatoes
    • 1 2/3 Cups milk
    • 2 Tablespoons butter
    • 1 Teaspoon butter
    • 1 Teaspoon salt, divided
    • 1 Pound ground beef (Italian sausage is a good option)
    • 1/4 Teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 12oz jar beef gravy
    • 1 10oz package frozen mixed vegetables, thawed & drained
    • 3/4 Cup grated Parmesan cheese


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 325'
    2. Prepare 4 servings instant mashed potatoes according to box instructions, using milk, butter and salt. Set aside.
    3. Cook ground beef (or sausage) in skillet on high heat, until browned and crumbly. Drain well.
    4. Sprinkle ground beef with remaining 1/2 tsp salt and black pepper.
    5. Add beef gravy and mixed vegetables to meat, stir well.
    6. Cook meat mixture over medium heat until hot.
    7. Spoon mashed potatoes in a ring around outside edges of skillet, leaving 3inch circle in center.
    8. Sprinkle grated Parmesan evenly over mashed potatoes.
    9. Bake until Parmesan is golden, usually about 5-10 minutes.


    Final Comments


    You can add or take away certain ingredients that you or your family enjoy. Italian sausage is a great option to add along with the beef or by itself.
