    Swedish Rye Bread

    Swedish Rye Bread


    1 cup plus 1 tablespoon warm water
    1 tablespoon molasses
    2 1/2 cups plus 3 tablespoons bread flour
    1 cup rye flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 cup packed brown sugar
    1 tablespoon shortening
    2 teaspoons rapid rise yeast

    Recipe


    Follow your bread machine instructions for making bread or just put the machine on the dough cycle.

    When dough cycle is complete, put dough into a greased bowl, cover with cloth and let rise until double in size.

    Punch down and form into a loaf.

    Put in loaf pan, cover and let rise again.

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees, turn oven down to 300 degrees and bake an additional 30 minutes.

    Cool on rack.
