    Hearty Iowa Beans


    1/2 lb. bacon, diced
    2 lbs. ground beef or pork
    1 cup chopped onion
    1 cup chopped celery
    2 beef bouillon cubes
    2/3 cup boiling water
    1 1/2 cup catsup
    1 1/2 cloves garlic, minced
    3 T. mustard
    1 1/2 t. pepper
    2 cans molasses style beans (29 oz each)

    Recipe




    In large kettle, fry bacon until crisp. set aside. Drain fat.

    Cook and stir ground pork, onion and celery until meat is brown and vegetables are tender. Spoon off fat. Dissolve bouillon cubes in boiling water.

    Stir water and remaining ingredients into meat. Cover and bake 1 hour and 15 minutes or until bubbly. Garnish with bacon.

    Serves 8
