    Cowboy Shake

    Source of Recipe

    Marla

    List of Ingredients

    Cowboy Shake

4 cups freshly brewed black coffee, cooled to room temperature
    6 ounces Bailey's Irish Cream
    4 cinnamon stars (recipe follows)
Whipped cream, for garnish (sweeten the cream slightly with granulated sugar if desired)
    Coffee beans, for garnish

    Cinnamon Stars:

    4 (8" flour tortillas)
    2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
    2 tablespoons granulated sugar
    Vegetable oil for frying

    Recipe

Chill four highball glasses until frosted.

In a blender half filled with ice, combine the coffee and the Bailey's Irish Cream and blend until smooth.

Quickly pour into the chilled glasses and garnish with the cinnamon stars, whipped cream and coffee beans.

    Cinnamon Stars:

Using a star cookie cutter, cut 3 or 4 stars out of each tortilla.

In a small bowl, combine the sugar and the cinnamon and set aside.

In a large skillet over high heat, heat 1/2" oil to 350.

Gently place a few stars in the oil and fry for 2-3 minutes turning once, until golden brown.

Be careful not to let the stars stick to the bottom of the pan.

Remove the stars from the oil and pat dry with a paper towel.

While the stars are still hot, dust with the cinnamon and sugar mixture.

    Set aside.

    Continue with the remaining stars.

Keep the stars uncovered (this will keep them from getting soggy) at room temperature for 3-4 days.

Float these fun little garnishes on top of the
Drugstore Cowboy Shake or any other drink where the cinnamon will happily match with the other flavors.
