    Bacon Cornmeal Bisquits


    1 1/4 cups self-rising flour
    1 cup self-rising cornmeal
    1 Tbsp brown sugar
    1/8 tsp ground red pepper
    3 Tbsp margarine
    3 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
    1/2 cup + 3 Tbsp buttermilk
    2 tsp self-rising flour
    Vegetable cooking spray

    Recipe




    Combine first four ingredirents.

    Cut in margarine until the mixture resembles a coarse meal.

    Stir in the crumbled bacon and add the buttermilk.

    A fork is better than a sponn at this point.

    Sprinkle 2 tsp flour on your work surface.

    Turn dough onto flour and knead 8 - 10 times.

    Roll dough to 1/2" thickness and cut out rounds.

    Place on cookie sheet coated with vegetable spray.

    Bake at 400 for 14 minutes or until golden brown.

    Makes 15 biscuits
