    Crusty Cornbread


    1/4 cup butter
    2 cups self-rising buttermilk white cornmeal mix
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    2 cups buttermilk
    1 large egg

    Recipe




    Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.

    Place butter in a 9-inch cast-iron skillet, and heat 5 minutes or until melted.

    Combine cornmeal mix and flour in a large bowl.

    Stir together buttermilk and egg.

    Add to dry ingredients; stir just until moistened.

    Pour over melted butter in skillet.

    Bake 20 minutes or until golden.

    Cut into wedges, and serve.
