    Yankee Corn Bread


    1 cup white all purpose flour
    3/4 cup cornmeal
    3 tablespoons sugar
    1 tablespoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 egg
    2/3 cup milk
    6 tablespoons butter -- melted

    Recipe




    Grease 8x8 inch baking pan.

    In a bowl, mix first five ingredients.

    In a small bowl, beat egg, milk, and melted butter.

    Stir egg mixture into flour/cornmeal mixture just until blended.

    Spread batter in pan.

    Bake at 425F 25 minutes until inserted toothpick comes out clean.

    Cut into squares; serve warm. Per serving:
