    Fresh Peach Cobbler


    1/2 cup unsalted butter
    1 cup all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 cups sugar, divided into 3/4 cup each
    1 tbsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. kosher salt
    1 cup milk
    4 cups (about 4 large) fresh yellow peaches, cut into slices
    1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
    1/4 tsp. lemon zest
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/8 tsp. nutmeg

    Recipe




    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

    Melt butter in a large baking dish or dutch oven.

    Combine flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder and kosher salt in a medium bowl.

    Add milk and stir just until dry ingredients are incorporated.

    Without stirring, pour batter over melted butter.

    Heat remaining 3/4 cup sugar, fresh peach slices, lemon juice, lemon zest, cinnamon and nutmeg over medium-high heat, stirring constantly.

    Cook until sugar has melted and all ingredients are fully mixed.

    Without stirring, pour the peach mixture over the batter.
