    Chinese New Year Cake (Nian-Gao)


    3 eggs
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 bag (16 oz.) Glutinous rice flour
    2 1/2 cups milk
    1/2 cup vegetable oil
    1 can (16 oz) red bean paste

    Recipe




    Preheat oven to 350 F.

    Blend all ingredients except red bean paste.

    Pour half of the mixture in baking pan.

    Bake until it is set (about 15-20 minutes).

    Spread the red bean pate onto the top of the baked mixture.

    Pour the rest of the unbaked mixture over this.

    Bake for additional 20-30 minutes.

    Brush with egg yolk and bake for 5-10 minutes until the top turns brownish.
