    Swedish Chokladkaka (Chocolate Pound Cake)


    vanilla wafer crumbs for coating pan
    1 14 cups cake flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    13 cup softened butter
    34 cup sugar
    2 eggs, separated
    1 tsp vanilla
    12 cup semisweet chocolate chips or
    4 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted
    12 cup heavy cream

    Recipe




    Butter a 9-inch fancy ring mold.

    Dust evenly with the vanilla wafer crumbs.

    Preheat the oven to 300 F.

    In a small bowl, stir the flour and baking powder together.

    In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter with the sugar.

    Add the egg yolks, vanilla, and chocolate.

    Beat until light and fluffy.

    Add the cream alternately with the flour mixture.

    Whip the egg whites until stiff.

    Fold into the mixture. Pour into the prepared cake pan.

    Bake for 50 minutes or until the cake tests done.

    Let the cake cool in the pan for five minutes.

    Turn out onto a serving rack and finish cooling.
