    Pumpkin Rum Baba (Thanksgiving Cake)


    butter, to grease pan
    flour, to dust pan
    2 (20 ounce) packages poundcake mix
    3/4 cup butter, melted
    6 eggs
    2/3 cup milk
    1 (16 ounce) can pumpkin
    1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

    Sauce

    3/4 cup sugar
    1 cup orange juice
    1 tablespoon cinnamon
    1/2 cup rum

    Recipe




    1 Preheat oven to 325°F.

    2 Generously grease a bundt pan and dust with flour, knocking out excess.

    3 In a large mixing bowl, at low speed, beat cake mix with butter and eggs; gradually add milk.

    4 Gradually increase mixer speed to medium and mix for 3-5 minutes, occasionally scraping sides.

    5 Mix in the pumpkin and spice, and continue mixing until batter is smooth.

    6 Pour batter into prepared pan; bake until golden (1 hour and 20 minutes).

    7 Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then on rack for 20 minutes.
    8In a saucepan, combine sugar and orange juice.

    9 Heat until sugar dissolves, stirring constantly, and mixture boils.

    10 Stir in rum and cinnamon, and remove from heat.

    11 Baste cake with sauce.
