    Chocolatey Frozen-Mint Dessert


    2 cups crushed chocolate graham crackers
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
    1/3 cup butter or margarine
    1/2 gallon chocolate chip mint ice cream, softened
    1 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces
    1 cup sifted powdered sugar
    12 oz. can evaporated milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    8 oz. container frozen whipped topping, thawed

    In a bowl, combine crushed graham crackers, first measure of melted butter or margarine, sugar.

    Press into bottom of a 15x10x1" pan.

    Set in freezer to chill 5 minutes.

    Cut ice cream into 1/2" thick slices, lay over crumbs.

    Cover, return to freezer.

    For chocolate sauce:

    In a saucepan, melt chocolate, 1/3 cup butter or margarine.

    Add powdered sugar, milk.

    Cook, stir about 20-25 minutes till slightly thickened.

    Stir in vanilla.

    Cool sauce completely.

    Pour chocolate sauce over chocolate chip mint ice cream, return to freezer about 30 minutes till firm.

    Spread thawed dessert topping on top; freeze again till serving time.
