    Beer Brats With Sauerkraut


    12 wheat buns, split
    12 bratwurst sausage links
    3 tbs spicy brown mustard
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    1 onion, chopped
    12 oz beer
    1 tbs brown sugar or substitute
    14 oz can sauerkraut, drained
    1 apple, peeled, thinly sliced
    6 bacon strips, chopped

    Recipe




    In a skillet, cook bacon until crisp.

    Remove, drain.

    Cook onion in bacon drippings until softened and golden brown.

    Add apple and garlic, cook 2 min. longer.

    Stir in sauerkraut, mustard, brown sugar and bacon.

    Transfer to a 13x9" disposable foil pan.

    Arrange bratwurst over top.

    Pour beer over bratwurst.

    Place pan on grill rack, cook until sausages are no longer pink.

    Remove pan from heat.

    Remove bratwurst, return to grill.

    Grill until browned.

    SERVE on buns with sauerkraut mixture...
