Steak & Cheese Melt Pizza
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 large red onions (about 1 lb total), thinly sliced
1 1/4 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning, divided
2 boneless beef strip steaks (about 5 ozs each), 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick
1 large (14 oz) baked pizza crust (such as Bobli)
2 tablespoons deli-style mustard
1 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese (4 ozs)
1 cup shredded provolone cheese (4 ozs)Recipe
Preheat the broiler.
Coat a broiler pan with non-stick cooking spray.
In a non-stick skillet, heat the oil over medium heat.
Add the onions & 1/2 teaspoon of the steak seasoning.
Cook the onions for about 10 minutes, or until they are translucent & lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
While the onions are cooking, season the steaks with the remaining 3/4 teaspoon of the steak seasoning.
Broil the steak for 2 minutes per side.
Remove the steak from the broiler & slice them thinly against the grain.
Place the pizza crust on the broiler pan & spread with the mustard.
Sprinkle half of the cheddar & provolone cheeses over the top.
Then, top with the sliced steak & onions.
Top the pizza with the remaining cheddar & provolone cheeses.
Broil for about 1 minute or until the cheese melts & the steak is heated through.
Remove the pizza from the broiler pan to a cutting board.
Cut into six slices.
