Perfect White Rice


1 3/4 cups water
1 teaspoon coarse salt
1 cup unconverted white rice



Recipe


In a 2-quart saucepan, bring water and salt to a rapid boil over high heat; stir in white rice.

Return mixture to a boil.

Reduce heat to a simmer; cook, covered, until rice is done and studded with steam holes, 15 to 20 minutes.

Let stand, covered, 5 to 10 minutes, then fluff rice with a fork.

Serves 4
